Video | Bible Study Fellowship | What Does The Bible Say About Homosexuality?

Commentary

Homosexuality is one of the most divisive issues in American culture. Should same-sex marriages be legalized? Should practicing homosexuals be ordained into Christian ministry? What does the Bible have to say about this controversial and emotional subject?

We want to address this issue not by our own personal experiences or the experiences of others. Not by the thoughts and philosophies of this world but rather we want to be guided by the Holy Spirit and the written WORD of GOD.  Romans 12:2 teaches us that we must not do what the world is doing but rather we must view the circumstances of life from God’s perspective.

Romans 12:2 New International Version (NIV)

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Our goal is to study the WORD of God on this subject and to adjust our thoughts on the matter accordingly.  In an article entitled Homosexuality: a biblical overview” Dr. Jim Denison advises as we study that we must seek the intended meaning of biblical text as understood in its original context and what matters most is not my opinion or yours, but God’s.
