Poems About Life | I’m With Kaep!!!
I’m With Kaep!!!
By: E.F. Salley
Jesus, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, Colin Kaepernick
Men who sacrificed their well-being for the good of others.
By kneeling Colin took a stand.
A Black man
A role model for kids to admire
Because of his protest the NFL said the struggle will not be televised so he was someone that they refused to hire
They said he was disrespecting the military
They threw salt in the game
They dragged him through the mud and tarnished his name
America is not living up to its stated ideals
Is it wrong to demand that the police treats the citizens equally?
That America provides justice for all?
Should we just be quiet and endure as we watch our brothers and sisters fall?
From sport arose serious conversation.
One that revealed the content of the character of this nation.
For me I’m with Kaep
I’ll wear that put that on the front of a t-shirt or the front of a baseball cap.
On behalf of my people I say thank you and God bless.
The NFL may have paid him off but this issue is not put to rest.
The struggle continues.
Commentary
Do you care about or have concern for your fellow man? As believers we should.
20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
Colin Kaepernick saw what he believed to be an injustice taking place in our society and so he decided that he had to do something in order to try to make a difference for positive change. He begin to protest by kneeling during the national anthem ceremony in order to highlight the fact that he felt like our country was not living up to his stated ideals. He felt the United States was not ensuring that all of its citizens was being treated equally. Psalm 82:3 teach us that we should uphold the cause of the oppressed. All of us as Christians should care about the suffering of our fellow man and like Colin Kaepernick we should also strive to make a difference to affect positive change in order to make our world a better place to live for us all.
